Dr. Mathilde M. van Ditmars ist Postdoc-Forscherin am Politikwissenschafltichen Seminar, im SNF-finanzierte Projekt DIGIPOL (2021-2025) unter der Leitung von Prof. Dr. A.H. Trechsel. Ihre Forschung liegt an der Schnittstelle von politischem Verhalten, politischer Soziologie und Familiensoziologie. Sie ist spezialisiert auf die Erforschung der politischen Sozialisation, mit der Anwendung quantitativer Methoden unter Verwendung von Paneldaten. Bevor sie 2019 als Oberassistentin an die Universität Luzern kam, war sie als Postdoc-Forscherin am Leiden University College tätig. Van Ditmars promovierte 2017 am European University Institute in Florenz mit einer Dissertation über die Auswirkungen verschiedener Familiendynamiken auf politische Sozialisationsprozesse. Sie war Gastforscherin in Berlin (DIW), Köln (Gesis EUROLAB) und Lausanne (FORS). Zuvor erwarb sie ihren MSc (res.) in Sozialwissenschaften an der Universität Amsterdam und war Dozentin am Politischen Institut der gleichen Universität.
