From Tool Literacy to Learning Experience
eduhub days 2026 shifts the focus from what educators use to what students actually experience when they learn. Digital technologies, learning analytics, and AI have made an extraordinary range of tools available, yet adoption alone changes little if it stays at the level of substituting one medium for another. The real opportunity lies in crossing the augmentation threshold: moving, deliberately and systematically, from incremental enhancement toward practices that reshape and enrich the learning experience itself, making it more meaningful, inclusive, and evidence-informed. Designed especially for the instructional designers, Moodle managers, learning technologists, educational developers, and institutional leaders who turn pedagogical intent into concrete course design, eduhub days 2026 offers keynotes, interactive workshops, community exchanges, and practical showcases. Together we will build the competencies, share the experiences, and create the conditions that let Swiss Higher Education recognise, support, and sustain genuine innovation in teaching — in the service of the learners it exists for.
5 & 6 November 2026, Neuchâtel
This conference is organized by SWITCH.
Academic development has shifted from centralised, discipline-neutral approaches towards more discipline-sensitive models, yet the mechanisms through which faculty developers facilitate this transition remain underexplored. Drawing on focus group data from faculty developers and employing the Integrative Transfer of Learning (ITL) model, this study examines how faculty developers design learning environments that strategically bridge generic and specific approaches.

What does future-proof higher education teaching look like in the age of artificial intelligence? The event «KI in der Hochschullehre» addresses this question from a strategic, forward-looking perspective: how is teaching and learning changing with AI, how can universities shape this change on their own terms, and what opportunities and risks does AI hold for higher education's core mandate in initial and continuing education?
ETH Zurich is organising the event in collaboration with the University of Zurich and on behalf of swissuniversities. It will take place on 1 April 2027 on the Hönggerberg campus in Zurich. The event will be held mainly in English.
On this day we will exchange ideas, discuss concrete approaches in workshops and bring together different perspectives on the panel. In addition, the event provides a setting for the closing meeting of the projects of the PgB Open Education & Digital Competencies. The event programme gives a first overview of the schedule.
This is a national event spanning all types of higher education institutions, held as part of the PgB Open Education & Digital Competencies. It is aimed at members of university leadership as well as managers and specialists in teaching development, higher education didactics and digital higher education teaching.
