Agatha Brandão de Oliveira ist eine in Brasilien und Portugal zugelassene Anwältin. Sie besitzt einen Bachelor of Laws von der Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo sowie einen Master-Abschluss im Wirtschaftsrecht von der Sciences Po Law School in Paris, den sie mit Auszeichnung abschloss.
Seit 2019 arbeitet Agatha an der Universität Luzern und verfasst ihre Doktorarbeit unter der Betreuung von Prof. Dr. Daniel Girsberger. Sie war Senior Researcher im Rahmen des Projekts „The Hague Principles and Beyond“ (2019-2021) der Schweizerischer Nationalfonds (SNF), leitete von 2019 bis 2020 als Director of Studies das CAS in Arbitration und war von 2021 bis 2023 wissenschaftliche Assistentin am Lehrstuhl für Schweizerisches und Internationales Privat-, Wirtschafts- und Verfahrensrecht sowie Privatrechtsvergleichung.
Derzeit koordiniert Agatha das SNF-Projekt "Choice of Law Dataverse: promoting transparency and access in private international law data" (2023-2026). Die Forschungsaktivitäten wurden zunächst durch das FoKo Start-up Funding finanziert. Das Projekt wird zudem administrativ vom Rektorat unterstützt.
