PD Dr. med. Mathias Wolfrum, geboren 1978, ist per 15. Juni 2026 zum Titularprofessor für klinisch-medizinische Wissenschaften ernannt worden. Er studierte Humanmedizin an den Universitäten Jena, Wien und Leipzig und promovierte 2008 an der Universität Leipzig. Anschliessend absolvierte er seine fachärztliche Weiterbildung in Innerer Medizin und Kardiologie am Universitätsspital Zürich. Von 2015 bis 2018 folgte ein kombiniertes Research und Interventional Fellowship an der Universität Oxford (Grossbritannien). Die Venia Legendi erhielt Mathias Wolfrum 2019 an der Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg. Seit 2019 ist er am Luzerner Kantonsspital tätig, seit 2023 als Leitender Arzt Kardiologie. Seine klinischen und wissenschaftlichen Schwerpunkte liegen in der strukturellen Kardiologie sowie in der Behandlung von Lipidstoffwechselstörungen.
