Deputy positions do not mean being ‘second in command’, but rather reliability, flexibility and a willingness to take responsibility when it matters. Such attitudes are crucial, especially in a university that thrives on collegial cooperation. We would therefore like to express our sincere thanks to all deputies: for their willingness to work behind the scenes, for their attention to university processes – and for sending a signal that democracy at our university is shared among many shoulders.
