The new representatives introduce themselves
Board Member: Alejandra Rodriguez
Hola! I'm Alejandra Rodríguez-Morales. Originally from Spain, I’ve had the opportunity to live in several European countries before moving to Switzerland to begin my PhD at the University of Lucerne, where I’m part of the Chair of International Economics.
Why do I want to become a Mittelbau Organisation (MOL) board member? I believe strongly in the value of interdisciplinary collaboration and in creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels a sense of belonging.
In the past, I’ve been actively involved in debate clubs and served as a student representative, experiences that strengthened my commitment to building vibrant academic communities. With this background, alongside my international perspective and strong motivation to support mid-level academic staff, I’m looking forward to contributing actively to MOL’s mission.
Board Member: Flavia Tinner
My name is Flavia Tinner, and I hold a PhD in Business and Management from the University of Lucerne. I am currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Faculty of Behavioral Sciences and Psychology, where I support research in legal psychology – particularly focusing on memory processes and their relevance for how statements are formed and evaluated.
As a newly elected MOL board member, I am especially committed to fostering interdisciplinary exchange within the mid-level academic staff, as well as to promoting fair publishing practices and transparent research processes. I believe these principles are essential for building a trustworthy and open research culture – also across disciplinary boundaries.
Auditor: Jana Jarck
Since summer 2023, I have been working as a research assistant and doctoral student at the Chair of Empirical Methods in the Faculty of Economics – marking my return to the University of Lucerne, where I had completed my Bachelor's degree in PPE at the KSF some years ago. I am now involved in research projects on electoral dynamics and political behavior. In this work, I combine my enthusiasm for political science questions with a desire to gain empirically grounded insights. I greatly enjoy actively contributing to the academic environment and advocating for the mid-level academic staff. For example, I currently represent the assistants in the Faculty Assembly of the WF. I would be pleased to further support our voice by serving as a deputy representative for the University Association and as deputy auditor for the MOL.
Senate: Jasmin Ulli
Hello - I am Jasmin Ulli, 29 years old. I have been working as a research assistant at the RF for two years and am doing my doctorate on a family law topic. With your support, I would like to help shape the development of the university. That is why I am running as a representative of the non-professorial teaching staff in the Senate. I would be delighted if you would place your trust in me.
Quality Commission: David Betzing
Since March 2024, I have been working as a PhD candidate and research assistant in the sub-project ‘Microcomputer Narratives of Transformation’ of the SNSF Starting Grant project ‘The Microcomputer as a Medium of Transformation, 1980-2000’ with Prof. Dr Gleb Albert at the Department of History at the University of Lucerne. My research centres on cultural history, social history, digital history, and contemporary German history with a focus on digital subculturesI am also a representative of the non-professorial research and teaching staff of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (KSF). So far, I have already been Antonia Steigerwald's deputy as MOL representative on the Quality Commission. I would now like to continue her important, impactful, and committed work as the representative to achieve a university-wide improvement in the promotion and career development for doctoral and postdoctoral researchers.
Equal Opportunity Committee: Lorena Gisler
I am very pleased to be able to represent the mid-level organisation University of Lucerne on the Equal Opportunity Committee (GLK). I am Lorena Gisler, research assistant and doctoral student of Prof Dr iur Anna Coninx (RF). As a member of the Equal Opportunity Committee, I will work to ensure that the sustainable anchoring of equal opportunities and diversity in its various dimensions continues to be promoted in all areas of the university. In order to contribute to an open and equal opportunities university culture, I will actively contribute the perspectives of the non-professorial teaching staff, critically accompany developments and help develop realisable ideas.
University Association: Cornelia Brunnschweiler
I studied for a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics at the University of Lucerne and then went on to complete a Master's degree in Economics here in Lucerne. I am now a doctoral student at the Chair of Empirical Methods at the Faculty of Economics and Management. Generally interested in politics, I have a particular interest in how political conditions influence the present and future of university teaching and the university as a workplace. I would be delighted to represent the voice of the academic mid-level on the board of the University Association and to contribute to the further development of the university in the interests of the MOL-members.
