Dario Cazzoli ist ausserordentlicher Professor für Neuropsychologie an der Universität Luzern. Zusammen mit Prof. Dr. Matthias Ertl fungiert er als Brückenprofessor zwischen der Universität Luzern und dem Luzerner Kantonsspital.
Nach dem Studium an den Universitäten Fribourg und Bern war Dario Cazzoli als Doktorand am «Perception and Eye Movement Laboratory» des Inselspitals Bern tätig und wurde zusätzlich in die Graduate School «Neuroscience» des BeNeFri Netzwerks aufgenommen, wo er 2011 promovierte. Es folgte ein dreijähriger Post-Doc-Forschungsaufenthalt an der University of Oxford (England). 2014 kehrte er an die Universität Bern zurück, wo er am ARTORG Center im Bereich Gerontechnologie und Rehabilitation eine SNSF Ambizione Fellowship innehatte. Ab 2016 war er zudem als klinischer Neuropsychologe am Inselspital Bern tätig. Seit 2020 leitet er die neurovisuelle Rehabilitation an der Klinik für Neurologie und Neurorehabilitation des Luzerner Kantonsspitals. Im Jahr 2021 habilitierte er an der Universität Bern im Bereich Neuropsychologie. In seiner Forschung untersucht Dario Cazzoli die neuronalen Mechanismen, die Diagnostik und die therapeutischen Ansätze kognitiver Störungen nach Hirnverletzung, mit einem besonderen Interesse für neurovisuelle Störungen.
