Anna Katharina Vokinger hat einen Master of Arts in Sozialanthropologie von der Universität Bern. In ihrer Masterarbeit analysierte sie humanitäre Interventionen in einem buddhistischen Waisenhaus in Hanoi, Vietnam. Während ihres Studiums absolvierte sie einen Kurs in Palliative Care beim Schweizerischen Roten Kreuz und engagiert sich seit 2020 als Freiwillige in der palliativen Begleitung beim Roten Kreuz Baselland. Im Januar 2022 begann sie ihre Teilzeittätigkeit als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin an der Fakultät für Gesundheitswissenschaften und Medizin der Universität Luzern. Im Oktober 2022 begann sie ihr Doktorat im Projekt "Trauerbegleitung für Eltern von Kinderkrebspatient:innen" an derselben Fakultät. In ihrem Forschungsprojekt konzentriert sie sich auf die Bedürfnisse und Wünsche von trauernden Eltern im Bereich der pädiatrischen Palliative Care in der Onkologie.
