Academic Titles
The awarding of academic titles plays a central role in the Faculty’s academic development and makes an important contribution to promoting its excellence and enhancing the attractiveness of its location and partner institutions. Academic titles recognize outstanding achievements and specifically strengthen research and teaching in the Health Sciences and Medicine degree programs as well as in continuing education. The commitment of title holders supports the long-term quality of the Faculty’s academic offerings.
The Faculty awards various academic titles to qualified individuals who distinguish themselves through outstanding achievements in research, teaching, and practice. These include, in particular, titular professorships, professorships in medical sciences, and titles for clinical lecturers. In addition, habilitation and the transfer of a habilitation are important procedures for recognizing academic qualifications and supporting the further development of academic careers.
All academic title awards require a demonstrated commitment to research, teaching, and academic life. Through their activities, whether in teaching, clinical practice, research, or faculty and overarching committees, candidates make a significant contribution to the continued development of the Faculty and its network. The relevant requirements are set out in university regulations and faculty guidelines, ensuring transparent procedures focused on academic quality.
