Teaching Development Centre
The Teaching and Faculty Development Centre (ZELE) helps the Teaching Committee (ULEKO) and other members of the university with teaching development.
The Teaching and Faculty Development Centre is:
- A service centre for university teaching staff and administration. This includes offering advice on topics such as higher education didactics, study programme development, the Bologna Process etc.
- Secretariat of the teaching committee (ULEKO)
- Coordination point for teaching and learning projects within the university and with external partners
The Teaching Centre is responsible for the development of university teaching and learning.
The Teaching Centre supports the University Teaching Committee (ULEKO), offers advice and training for lecturers on university teaching issues and provides further training in university didactics for prospective lecturers. One focus is on the use of artificial intelligence for teaching. Furthermore, the Centre for Teaching networks nationally and internationally with partner organisations on the subject of university didactics and AI.
The CAS in University Didactics supports lecturers in developing their teaching skills in a scientifically sound manner. The programme focuses on key areas such as strategic planning, implementation and reflection on courses. In particular, the programme promotes the independent further development of teaching staff. Participants set individual specialisations and deepen these in a targeted manner. The programme is aimed at both junior lecturers and experienced teachers who wish to expand their teaching skills. The regular duration of the programme is three semesters. If you are interested and for further information, please visit the main page - there you will find details on the structure of the programme, the modules and registration.
The Teaching Centre offers lecturers at the University of Lucerne free workshops on all topics relating to higher education didactics. The workshops are part of the CAS HSD, but can also be attended individually without registering for the CAS HSD. Please register on the course page using the linked registration form.
Advanced lecturers at the University of Lucerne can take advantage of this service. In a confidential setting, personal questions about university teaching can be addressed, challenges can be clarified, and specific strategies can be developed. You can enter requested topics on the website, and an external expert will contact you promptly.
The University Teaching Committee (ULEKO) is responsible for addressing issues related to the development of teaching and university didactics. The committee assesses and promotes new teaching methods and technologies. In particular, it establishes principles for effective teaching.
The University of Lucerne supports courses that venture off the beaten track to explore new didactic and methodological approaches. A course can receive funding of up to CHF 4,000. These funds can be used for the design and implementation of the course, but not as a lecturer's fee. Applications must include a didactic concept and a detailed budget and must not exceed four pages. Innovative teaching projects
