CV
Christina Cuonz studied English, German and Journalism at the Universities of Lausanne, Fribourg and Oslo between 1997 and 2003. In 2003 to 2004 she completed training as a PR consultant in Tübingen (D). From 2004 to 2007 she worked as a research assistant on SNSF project at the University of Lausanne, including nine months spent as a guest researcher at the University of Edinburgh. From 2007 to 2012 she held various positions at the University of Basel, including Teaching and Research Assistant in German Linguistics, Lecturer in General Linguistics and Scientific Coordinator for the MA in Language and Communication, as well as at the bi-national Hermann Paul School of Linguistics Basel-Freiburg.
Christina Cuonz has completed further training in the fields of secondary and higher education (MAS, University of Zurich 2009) and higher education didactics (Academic Teaching Certificate, University of Basel 2012). She is currently completing a Certificate in General Management at the University of St. Gallen (CAS-HSG).
She completed doctoral studies in the field of General Linguistics at the University of Basel in 2011 with a thesis on linguistic value judgements by lay people.
Christina Cuonz has been the GSL’s managing director since August 2012.
Christina Cuonz is leaving the GSL as of 30 September 2016. After a stay abroad, she will start a new position in Bern. As of March 1, 2017, she will be Director of the Centre for University Continuing Education at the University of Bern.
