The Faculty of Economics and Management (WF) was founded in autumn 2016. This young faculty has since established a reputation for its research and teaching, and is now an integral part of the University of Lucerne. Our research activities tackle current and fundamental issues within the fields of economics and management. We provide students with the skills they need to understand and analyse these issues. Our goal is to train specialists and experts who will make a difference by providing future-oriented solutions in a rapidly changing working world.
Our wide-ranging economics and management courses provide comprehensive, broad-based training in economics and business studies, as well as specialist knowledge from highly topical subject areas such as digitalisation and automation. As a small faculty, we offer a personal environment where students have direct contact with teachers and lecturers. This enables students to receive targeted support and provides them with a forum for practicing their skills, discovering new subject matter and pursuing their individual ideas.
Demand for our study programmes has been consistently growing ever since the faculty was founded. In autumn 2019, we were able to award degree certificates to our first bachelor’s graduates. The new master’s programme in economics and management also began in the 2019 fall semester.
