The general Master's programme offers a wide range of courses in economics and management. Like the BA in Economics and Management at the University of Lucerne, this study programme also incorporates economics, business studies and quantitative methodologies. The general Master’s can be completed entirely in English.

During their studies, students consistently develop their knowledge and skills across all fields of economics and management. The Master’s programme is therefore suitable for people who plan to move into professional fields that call for general economic knowledge as well as the ability to undertake analytical and conceptual work incorporating multiple disciplines. A key feature of the study programme is the systematic targeted analysis of data, along with examining how data is handled and how it can be used to gain strategic and operational knowledge.

As well as the general programme, the Master’s in Economics and Management also offers four specialisations. The structure of all Master’s programmes includes a mandatory component worth 24 ECTS, an elective component worth 12 ECTS and the obligatory master’s thesis (18 ECTS). On the general Master’s programme, the remaining 36 ECTS consist of an additional elective module in which students can select lectures and courses from all specialisations.

Instead of another elective module, the four specialisations offered as part of the Master’s programme have a specialisation module in the relevant subject area. The Master’s programme in Economics and Management at the University of Lucerne offers the following specialisations:

You can switch from a general Master’s programme to a specialisation during the course of your studies.
