Moot Courts

A Moot Court competition is an extracurricular course offering at many law schools in which participants take part in simulated court proceedings. It usually refers to a simulated appellate court or arbitral case. Participants can receive up to 12–18 ECTS points for successful participation in a moot court team.

Mooting is an excellent opportunity for law students to develop written and oral advocacy skills, compete with students from national and international law schools, and meet practitioners and jurists in their chosen field of law.

For exchange students who wish to stay at the University of Lucerne Faculty of Law for an entire year, or those incoming students who can extend their involvement past their semester, we offer several international moot court competitions.
