Jane Connors

Until recently, Jane Connors was the Director of Research and Right to Development Division of the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) which is responsible for supporting the High Commissioner's global leadership role by informing policy positions and advocacy on thematic issues through legal analysis and applied research. Prior to this position, Jane Connors was the Chief of the Special Procedures Branch at the OHCHR in Geneva. She joined the United Nations as the Chief of the Women's Rights Division in the Department of Economic Affairs in 1996, and transferred to OHCHR in 2002. Prior to joining the United Nations she taught law at various tertiary institutions, spending 15 years at the School of Oriental and African Studies in London. She has written widely on the human rights of women and the treaty body system.
