Professor Daniel Girsberger is the keynote speaker at the HCCH Conference on Commercial, Digital and Financial Law Across Borders (CODIFI) - 12 September, online. Examining the Principles on Choice of Law in International Commercial Contracts from a practical perspective, Professor Daniel Girsberger spoke about the origins of the instrument and what the Principles are and what they are not.

Examining the Principles on Choice of Law in International Commercial Contracts from a practical perspective, Professor Daniel Girsberger spoke about the origins of the instrument and what the Principles are and what they are not. This session also featured an interview discussing the works of the Working Group, the innovative elements in the Principles, and how they can be useful in arbitration. Professor Girsberger outlined what could be the future in expanding the legal framework on the choice of law in international contracts.

The CODIFI conference brings together panelists and participants from a range of backgrounds, drawing on the expertise of specialists in public service and government, legal practice, finance, the technology sector, the diplomatic community and academia. CODIFI sessions will be running continuously for the entire week of 12 to 16 September, as a mix of live and pre-recorded events. The event is organized into multiple thematic “tracks” for those wishing to focus on Trusts and Securities, the Choice of Law Principles, or the Digital Economy.
