Andreas Furrer graduated from the University of Fribourg (Switzerland) in 1989, going on to receive his Master of European Law from the University of Saarbrücken (Germany) in 1992. He completed his doctorate at the University of St. Gallen (Switzerland) and the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence (Italy) in 1993.
