Faculty Board
The Faculty Board supports the Dean in strategic planning and operational management of the faculty, develops decision-making bases and prepares business for the Faculty Assembly. It consists of:
- Prof. Dr. Stefan Boes, Dean
- Prof. Dr. Balthasar Hug, Vice-Dean Medicine and Medical Sciences
- Prof. Dr. Thomas Nyffeler, Deputy Vice-Dean Medicine and Medical Sciences
- Prof. Dr. Sara Rubinelli, Vice-Dean Health Sciences and Health Policy
- Prof. Dr. Carla Sabariego, Vice Dean Rehabilitation Sciences and Human Functioning Sciences
- Gabriela Scherer, Faculty Manager
- Dr. med. Christian Schirlo, Head Faculty office for Education and Student Affairs

Faculty Assembly
The Faculty Assembly is the highest body for faculty matters. Among other things, it decides on faculty regulations, the creation and modification of degree programmes and further education programmes, and the implementation of the faculty strategy. It also submits appointments of professors to the University Senate, decides on applications for the opening of habilitation procedures and the awarding of honorary doctorates and visiting professorships, and assigns teaching and research mandates. The Assembly also elects a Dean and Vice-Deans. Comprehensive information on the Faculty Assembly and its responsibilities can be found in § 6 of the Faculty Regulations
All professors appointed to the faculty are voting members of the Faculty Assembly. In addition, the Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine Assembly consists of the following voting members:
- Two representatives of the professors of medical sciences
- One representative of the titular professors
- Three representatives of the private lecturers
- One representative of the senior lecturers and researchers
- One representative of the research assistants
- Two representatives of the students
- One representative of the administrative, technical and further staff
The faculty manager and the head of the faculty office for Education and Student Affairs participate in the faculty meetings in an advisory capacity.
