LORY Lucerne Open Repository
LORY (Lucerne Open Repository) is the institutional repository of the university. It is particularly suitable for secondary publications. For this purpose, bibliografic data must be entered in the university's research information system (FIS) and also full texts uploaded for to be released on LORY. The Open Access team of the ZHB takes care of the rights clearance with the publishers, sets an embargo if necessary and - if legally possible - definitively releases the publication for LORY. LORY is also suitable for the publication of research data - provided that these may be made freely accessible.

Research Data Management
The ZHB offers courses, workshops and personal consultations on all aspects of research data management and the publication of research data. The repository LORY of the University of Lucerne is suitable for the publication of research data - as long as they may be made freely accessible.

Funding an Open Access Publication
There are various ways to finance your Open Access publication:
- Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF): costs for journal articles (in a fully "Gold" Open Access journal) produced as part of an SNSF-funded project and for monographs even without a connection to an SNSF project; all funded publications must undergo peer review (in the case of dissertations, the expert opinions count as peer review)
- Read&Publish Agreements: costs for an Open Access publication in thousands of journals published by Elsevier, Springer, Wiley, Taylor&Francis, Cambridge and Sage
- Research Commitee of the University ("FoKo") or funding through your Faculty: Contributions to publications including Open Access publications
Publication of Open Access journals
The ZHB offers the possibility to professionally organise and publish Open Access journals. This is done by the publication and presentation platform Open Journal Systems (OJS).
