Canon Law & Law and Religion deals with canon law on an academic level. The subject also analyses the legislative basis between the modern constitutional State and religious communities.

The Center for Comparative Constitutional Law of Religion (co-directors Prof. Dr. Adrian Loretan and Prof. Dr. Andreas Eicker) adds an interfaculty perspective to this research focus.
