International and Swiss doctoral students can now apply!
From February 15th to 18th 2027, the Lucerne Master Class in PPE (Philosophy, Political Science, and Economics) will be held on the topic “Capitalism, Freedom, and Inequality” with Prof. Dr. Lea Ypi. Doctoral students from Switzerland and abroad will have the opportunity to engage in an intensive exchange with a renowned researcher. Up to 16 doctoral students will be invited, of whom approximately 12 will be selected to present their research projects to the group and receive feedback from Ypi and the other participants. The doctoral students will engage in discussions on inequality and agency and exchange views on the realization of freedom.

«Get it started» ist a new workshop series for all the beginning graduate students. Three short workshops, each lasting about 1.5 hours, will provide you with helpful tips on the topics of “Tools,” “PhD Culture,” and “Good Research Practices” throughout the fall semester. This will help you get to know the people, tools, and resources that can guide and support you on your journey through the PhD program.
September 21st (PhD Info Day) 1:15–3:00 p.m., September 22nd, 1:00–3:00 p.m., November 2nd, 2:00–4:00 p.m., and another session in December will follow.
«Get it done» helps you with the important final steps at the very end of your doctoral program. The course is designed to provide practical tips for completing your dissertation and to facilitate discussion among doctoral students. The four workshops (each lasting about 1.5 hours) will be held remotely and cover topics such as time management, guidance on the revision process, and peer support.
The first session is on September 15 from 2:00–3:30 p.m.; subsequent dates will be determined afterward.
