Workshop Steven Lukes: Morals - The Demarcation Problem

A workshop with Prof. Steven Lukes, New York University (please also pay attention to the talk by Prof. Lukes on October 3rd – see separate announcement)

Date: 4th October 2018
Time: 09.00 h to 12.30 h
Location: University of Lucerne, Room 3.B52
Prof. Steven Lukes, New York University

The workshop explores the question: what are we talking about when we talk about morals/morality/ethics? It will also address various related questions: why have various social sciences recently turned their attention to this ancient topic? Can it be studied scientifically and, if so, how? How wide and how deep does the diversity of morals go? Is morality distinctively human? What does viewing moraliity sociologically involve?
