The Center for HRM (CEHRM) forms a part of the Faculty of Economics and Management at the University of Lucerne. It provides a platform for innovative research, teaching and an intense dialog between science and practice in the area of human resource management. In research and teaching we explore and address current and future human resource management challenges and secure knowledge transfer to the current and next generation of leaders and decision-makers. Our collaborations include well-recognized Swiss and global research platforms and networks.

Abolish performance appraisal systems?

Many SMEs and larger companies adhere to formal performance appraisals, although employees and managers are often dissatisfied with them and the desired results are not achieved. In a provocative essay, Professor Kevin Murphy of the University of Limerick argues for the abolition of the traditional performance appraisal system.

More corporate performance through employer branding?

The effects of employer branding on corporate success have not yet been researched. An inter-university research group is now focusing on this topic.
