Since August 2025, Clara L. J. Bongartz has been a Ph.D. candidate and research associate at the Chair of Neuropsychology.
She obtained her Master of Science in Clinical Psychology and Neuroscience from the University of Basel in 2025, with a master’s thesis titled “The Role of the Left and Right Inferior Occipital Gyrus in Aversive Episodic Memory Encoding: A Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Study,” conducted in the Department of Cognitive Neuroscience.
From 2022 to August 2025, Bongartz also worked as a student research assistant in the Department of Clinical Psychology and, from 2023, additionally in the Department of Cognitive Neuroscience. In 2025, she further completed a clinical neuropsychology internship at Lucerne Cantonal Hospital (LUKS).
Her research interests include the neural mechanisms and assessment of cognitive disorders following stroke (in particular hemispatial neglect), as well as factors influencing post-stroke recovery.
