The Political Sciences programme at the University of Lucerne offers an internationally-oriented, innovative and challenging course of study – right at the heart of Switzerland. Political Sciences in Lucerne teaches the fundamentals of such subject areas as the challenges of democratic governance in an increasingly globalised, digitized, economised and media-centric 21st-century world. It examines questions relating to (inter-)national environmental, energy and climate politics as well as the consequences of increasing immigration flows for citizenship and democratic coexistence. Knowledge development strategies and an awareness of a wide range of theories help in discovering new perspectives on the world. Methodologies ensure that answers are developed in a structured, well-founded form and thus more convincingly argued.
