MSc Health Sciences

In the Health Sciences degree programs at the Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine (GMF), registration for examinations and repeat examinations via UniPortal is mandatory. This requirement also applies to students from other faculties who are enrolled in GMF courses. Examinations cannot be taken and credits cannot be awarded without prior registration.
Important: Registration deadlines and examination dates vary between faculties. Students are responsible for familiarising themselves with the relevant deadlines and taking them into account when planning their studies.
Examination Session Fall Term 2025
Unless otherwise stated in the individual courses, the following dates and times apply (The type and duration of examinations are set by the lecturers and published in the examination schedule; as a result, individual exam dates and registration deadlines may differ from the standard schedule.):

* Extended deadlines apply for specific Master's block courses. The relevant courses and the applicable registration deadline are listed in the “Examination” section of the course catalog. If there is only a reference to the general website in the “Examination” section without any additional information, the general deadlines apply.

The examinations mentioned above will be conducted using the cloud-based examination software Inspera in the Spring 2026 examination session . All examinations will be held on site and must be completed using your own laptop. You are required to bring a laptop that meets the technical requirements. You must also bring your CampusCard to the examination and present it.
Function test INSPERA
The INSPERA on-site function test is mandatory for all students taking the above-mentioned exams. The function test must be completed every semester. During the specified time window, you can take the function test (approx. 20 minutes) and receive technical support for the INSPERA exam software and the Safe Exam Browser (SEB).

This test is used to install the current version of the Safe Exam Browser (SEB) and to verify its functionality and access to the INSPERA exam software. Proper installation of SEB is a prerequisite for taking the exam, and the correct completion of the functionality test will be verified. Students who do not complete the functionality test are not entitled to technical support from the exam supervisor in the event of technical issues on the day of the exam. No additional exam time will be granted for installing SEB during the exam.
Registration for the functionality test is not required. Students taking INSPERA exams at various faculties only need to complete the function test once per semester. Students registered for the above-mentioned exams will receive further information about the INSPERA function test by email prior to the exam session (after the registration deadline).

Examination review Fall Term 2025
Examination review is reserved for students who have failed their exam (grade below 4.0). The review session for the HS25 semester will take place on March 16, 2026. The exact times are available here. Participation is only possible with prior registration via exams-health@unilu.ch.
Examination reviews generally last 15 minutes per exam. During the review, taking notes or making written or electronic copies of the examination materials is not permitted, nor is exchanging information with other persons.
All requests for disadvantage compensation must be submitted to the Dean’s Office, addressed to the StuPA, by 15 October or 15 March at the latest in order to be considered for the current semester’s performance assessments.

Richtlinien für die Gewährung eines Nachteilsausgleichs
Students whose secondary school leaving certificate was obtained in a language other than German may apply for extended time in written examinations conducted in German. This application must also be submitted to the Dean’s Office by 15 October or 15 March.
