Course registration varies depending on the faculty. This overview provides students with support in booking courses and exams from other faculties and contains information on registration periods, exam dates, important contacts and further links to facilitate the registration process.

Course registration period
from 2 weeks before to 2 weeks after the semester start.

Registration via Uniportal is mandatory.
Course examination registration period
No additional registration is required for course examinations (course registration at the beginning of the semester also counts as examination registration).

Course examination dates
Spring semester: The last two weeks of the semester and the first week after the end of the semester
Autumn semester: The last two weeks of the semester and the second week of January
The examination date and format will be announced by the respective lecturers.
The date for repeat examinations is set by the lecturers. The examination should take place within 4 weeks.

Course registration period
As a rule, no binding registration for courses is required at the beginning of the semester at the RF. If registration is required, this will be indicated in the course catalogue.
The dates for mandatory exam registration via the UniPortal can be found here. Please also register on OLAT. This will give you access to links for digital events, as well as messages from lecturers and course materials.
Before attending courses at the RF, it is recommended that you clarify the conditions of participation with the RF's Student Advisor.

Spring semester: Beginning of April (2 weeks)
Autumn semester: Beginning of November (2 weeks)
After the registration deadline, you may deregister from a maximum of two German- or Italian-language examinations without giving reasons (see Deregistration).

For German- and Italian-language examinations: from the end of May (FS) or mid-December (HS)

Enrolment begins two weeks before the start of the semester and is possible until Friday of the second week of the semester (exceptions are special courses prior to the start of the semester, block courses and courses with a limited number of participants. In these cases, the enrolment period may begin or end earlier).
Registration ensures access to the documents and to the tutorial groups.

Course examination dates
The examination website always publishes the examination sessions for two semesters at a time. The final examination dates are released at the beginning of the semester in the form of an official examination schedule.

From two weeks before the start of the semester until the end of the first week of the semester.

Course registration is non-binding and grants access to course materials.
Registration period for coursework
Summer semester: beginning of April (2 weeks)
Autumn semester: beginning of November (2 weeks)
Extended deadlines apply to certain Master’s degree block courses. The relevant courses and applicable registration deadlines are listed in the course catalogue under “Examination”. If the “Examination” section refers only to the general website and provides no further details, the general registration deadlines apply.

Registration is binding and mandatory for all courses, regardless of the examination format. ECTS credits cannot be awarded without prior registration.
Failed examinations can usually be retaken in the following examination session. Unexcused absence from an examination excludes participation in the repeat examination.

Two semesters at the time, including their respective examination sessions, are published on the examination website Definitive examination dates are announced in the examination schedule, which will be published no later than the middle of the semester.

Registration for courses with performance assessment
From Monday, two weeks before the start of the semester, to Sunday before the start of the semester.

Registration is binding and will result in a failed attempt if the performance assessment is not completed or if the student is frequently absent. Parallel registration on OLAT is not necessary. For proseminars, registration is based on a first come, first served basis.
Registration for practice sessions
Monday, 2 weeks before the start of the semester until Sunday before the start of the semester

Registration is based on a first come, first served basis. You must attend the practice session to which you have been assigned.
Registration for courses offered by other faculties
The course ‘Health Psychology and Behavioural Medicine’ is offered by the Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine (GMF). Please note that the deadlines and dates of the GMF apply to this course.
