TeNOR − Text and Normativity

The university research focus "TeNOR – Text and Normativity" at the University of Lucerne lasted from the spring semester of 2008 to the end of the year 2013. In 2011, the management team – consisting of professors from all three of the University of Lucerne’s faculties – decided to compete for funding from the Swiss National Science Foundation to establish a National Centre of Competence in Research (NCCR). During the application procedure, the NCCR project "TeNOR – Text and Normativity" was awarded the top grade at the first stage and admitted to stage two. In this second stage, the project was judged in the final round to be the best of three projects in the field of humanities and social sciences, but was not ultimately awarded the funding.
