Anne-Cathrine Tanner studied Law and Economics at the University of St. Gallen (HSG) from 2007 to 2013 and graduated with an M.A. HSG in Law and Economics. During her studies, she worked as an assistant in the university’s law department. After graduation, she initially worked as a legal counsel for a Swiss private bank before completing internships at the Swiss National Bank (SNB) and the District Court of Werdenberg-Sarganserland. In 2016, she was admitted to the bar in the Canton of St. Gallen. She subsequently practised as an attorney at a commercial law firm in Zurich, advising companies primarily on contract and competition law matters.
Since June 2018, Anne-Cathrine Tanner has been a research assistant and PhD candidate at the Chair of Prof. Dr Nicolas Diebold at the University of Lucerne. From 2020 to 2022, she also served as a project associate at the Swiss business federation economiesuisse, with a focus on competition law. She completed her PhD in March 2026 and has since continued her academic work at the chair as a postdoctoral researcher.
