Guillaume Morlet, PhD

Postdoc, Swiss Paraplegic Research
Guillaume Morlet is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Health Economics & Services Group at Swiss Paraplegic Research. He holds a PhD in Applied Econometrics from ETH Zurich. His research focuses on disability, labour market participation, and socioeconomic inequalities. He studies how disability affects employment, income, and socioeconomic status, and how socioeconomic conditions contribute to chronic disease and disability. He contributes to the SNSF-funded From Chronic Illness to Social Risk project, which uses Swiss longitudinal data to study these relationships and to develop a measure of functioning that can support earlier and more inclusive disability policy.

Nga Chau My Ha

PhD student, Swiss Paraplegic Research
Nga Chau My Ha is a PhD student in Health Sciences at the University of Lucerne and Swiss Paraplegic Research. She holds a Master’s degree in Health Sciences with a specialization in Health Economics and Policy from the University of Lucerne and a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacology from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Her research focuses on social mobility, retirement policies, long-term care, and the economic consequences of disability across the life course. She currently supports the project Long-Term Care Needs and Costs for Persons with Spinal Cord Injury in Switzerland.

Stefan Metzger, PhD

Postdoc, Swiss Paraplegic Research
Stefan Metzger is Performance Manager at the Swiss Paraplegic Center (SPZ) and Managing Director of the Swiss Society of the Four Paraplegic Centers. He holds a PhD in Health Sciences from the University of Lucerne and Swiss Paraplegic Research and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Zurich. He supports the Health Economics & Services Group's research on the effectiveness and efficiency of rehabilitation services, health service organization, and quality of care. He is a project partner in the SNSF-funded Health and Wellbeing project, which examines how rehabilitation services can be better matched to the needs of people with spinal cord injury and which approaches work best for different people and circumstances.

Ana Oña, PhD

Postdoc, Swiss Paraplegic Research
Ana Oña is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Health Economics & Services Group at Swiss Paraplegic Research. She holds a PhD in Health Sciences from the University of Lucerne and a Master’s degree in Statistics and Economics from the Catholic University of Chile. Her research focuses on spinal cord injury and disability, with particular interests in health system performance, equity, rehabilitation, healthcare use, and long-term care. She works with longitudinal, survey, and administrative data to study patient pathways, healthcare and rehabilitation outcomes, and social participation. She contributes to research projects funded by the Leading House for the Latin American Region and the Swiss Network for International Studies (SNIS).

Boris Polanco, PhD

Postdoc, Swiss Paraplegic Research
Boris Polanco is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Health Economics & Services Group at Swiss Paraplegic Research. He holds a PhD in Health Sciences from the University of Lucerne and a Master’s degree in Statistics from the University of Bern. His research focuses on health economics, health technology assessment (HTA), and the economic burden of chronic conditions, with expertise in cost analysis and simulation methods. He contributes to the SNSF-funded Health and Wellbeing project through data management and economic modelling. He also contributes to an Innosuisse-funded initiative applying HTA methods to evaluate innovative assistive technologies for people with spinal cord injury, including their effectiveness, costs, and value for healthcare.
