Webinar series “Evidence, Policy & Practice”: Trustworthy Data Sharing – From Concept to Action

In this three-part webinar series by the Competence Center for Learning Health Systems, three researchers examine how to close the gap between evidence and action. Session one will provide participants with insights into governance, public trust, and the role of data in health policy.

Date: 18 June 2026
Time: 17.00 h to 18.00 h
Location: Online

What connects data governance, health inequalities, and behavioral economics? The answer lies at the heart of Learning Health Systems — systems that continuously integrate evidence to improve care, policy, and practice.

In this series by the Competence Center for Learning Health Systems, three researchers bring complementary lenses to one shared challenge: closing the gap between evidence and action. Across three sessions, researchers in health policy, behavioral economics, and health economics explore how evidence can inform and be integrated into policy and practice. Together, they ask what a health system truly needs in order to learn and what stands in the way. The series is moderated by Dr. Helena Antonie Baier

For Session 1, the speaker will be Dr. Felix Gille from the University of Zurich, whose expertise focuses on health policy governance and public trust in data use within healthcare systems. Building on his research on public trust in health systems, this session explores what trust really means in the context of health data sharing. Felix Gille will present the conceptual foundations of trustworthy data sharing and offer practical ways forward for building data-sharing infrastructures that patients, institutions, and policymakers can rely on.

The webinar series is open to the public. It will be held in English. Participation is free of charge, but registration is required. The access link for the online session will be shared in advance.
