We are pleased to welcome Prof. Lawrence O. Gostin, Distinguished University Professor at Georgetown University, Washington, D.C., as the speaker of the LIFE B.Braun Lecture 2026.

In his lecture, Prof. Gostin will explore the deep interconnection between science, public health, and democracy. He argues that defending scientific integrity is not only a technical task but a moral and civic duty—essential for justice, compassion, and social cohesion.

This conference aims to analyse the foundational principles of crime and punishment from a law and economics perspective.
