Research

Professor Dr Marc Hürzeler’s chair focuses on the field of social security law and its ties to liability and private insurance law. This field crosses over into a number of other areas of both public and private law. The specialism has evolved from circumstances in Swiss law that result in cases of personal injury triggering a number of different benefits claims, each of which has to be allocated to an overall system. Such cases result in a number of complicated and sensitive questions related to coordination.

The chair also focuses on research in the area of occupational pension schemes (the second pillar of Swiss social security).
