Eli Guenzburger has been a doctoral student under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Patrik Hummel at the University of Lucerne and the Zug Institute for Blockchain Research (ZIBR) since December 2025. He is interested in how fundamental questions in the philosophy of technology intersect with central themes in modern philosophy, especially those explored in the German Idealist tradition.
He graduated magna cum laude in February 2025 from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven with a Research Master’s degree in Philosophy. His thesis examined F.W.J. Schelling’s late lectures on the Philosophy of Mythology and Philosophy of Revelation and their relation to the thought of Franz Rosenzweig.
Prior to pursuing graduate studies in philosophy, he worked full-time for two years as a software developer specializing in smart contract development on public Blockchains.
He graduated in 2020 from the University of Chicago with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy.
