Center for Rehabilitation in Global Health Systems

The Center for Rehabilitation in Global Health Systems (CRGHS)  at the University of Lucerne, responding to the challenges of the 21st century and the World Health Organization’s Rehabilitation 2030: A call for action, will promote high quality, innovative and international research and implementation in rehabilitation in international health systems. Members of the CRGHS are committed to raising the profile of rehabilitation as a key health strategy that is relevant to the entire population, across the lifespan and the continuum of care.

The CRGHS is dedicated to encouraging and sustaining a research and implementation environment that is interdisciplinary, welcoming researchers from a variety of backgrounds – health, medicine, the social sciences, policy and law. The CRGHS is integrated into the academic programs offered by the University of Lucerne and will support students in acquiring a theoretical and conceptual background in rehabilitation, methodological and other essential skills for research, as well as the tools and expertise for implementation in order to practically address the challenges for the future of rehabilitation in global health systems. The CRGHS is also the home of a World Health Organization Collaborating Center (WHO CC).
