David Weisstanner is assistant professor in health and social policy at the Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine. He holds a PhD in political science from the University of Bern (2018). Before coming to Lucerne, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Social Policy and Intervention and Nuffield College at the University of Oxford (2018-2021) and an assistant professor at the Department of Political Science at Aarhus University (2021-2022). His research focuses on topics related to comparative social policy in advanced democracies. Specifically, he is interested in the political determinants and consequences of socio-economic inequality, social policy preferences, and electoral behaviour.
