Manuel Oechslin (PhD in Economics, University of Zurich) has been a full professor of economics at the University of Lucerne since December 2014. Before moving to Lucerne, he was an associate professor at Tilburg University in the Netherlands. His research and teaching focus on international economics and macroeconomics. A current line of research examines how recent geopolitical tensions and shifting war risks affect international capital flows, particularly in the form of foreign direct investment. Oechslin has published in leading international journals, including The Economic Journal, the Journal of International Economics, and the Journal of Economic Growth.
