He finished his Doctor of Medicine from the University of the Philippines in 2010, specialized in Pediatrics, and obtained specialty board certification from the Philippine Pediatric Society in 2016. He completed a double Masters’ degree (Vaccinology and Cell/Molecular Biology) from Université de Lyon 1 (France), Universiteit Antwerpen (Belgium), and Universitat de Barcelona (Spain) in 2018. Ultimately, he obtained his Ph.D. in Health Sciences (Epidemiology and Biostatistics) from the University of Bern and a Certificate of Public Health from the Swiss Schools of Public Health in 2022.

He previously worked as a researcher at the National Institutes of Health – University of the Philippines (Philippines), Hospital Universitario de Santiago de Compostela (Spain), Swiss Paraplegic Research (Switzerland), Institute for Social and Preventive Medicine – University of Bern (Switzerland). He also served as a consultant for the Philippine Department of Health and the World Health Organization (WHO).

He has expertise in longitudinal analysis, systematic reviews and meta-analysis, cohort and nested case-control studies, mixed-methods approach, and surveillance/registry analysis (Real World Data). He has a broad interest in child health, vaccine-preventable diseases, pediatric oncology, cardiovascular diseases, spinal cord injury, and nutrition, all of which are evident through his numerous projects and publications.
