Sybilla Merian completed her studies in Economics at the University of Zurich in 2019. In 2024, she earned her doctorate in Marketing at the same institution and subsequently worked as a postdoctoral researcher. From 2024 to 2026, she also held a lecturer position at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland. In her research, Sybilla Merian explores how companies can motivate consumers to adopt more sustainable behaviors through innovative interventions.
Research
Sybilla Merian investigates the prerequisites and organizational levers required to initiate and sustain long-term behavioral change among consumers.
Her research centers on how companies can influence individual decision-making processes through targeted interventions and innovative solutions – thereby effectively supporting strategic goals such as sustainability or customer retention. Her projects focus both on measuring individual behavior and on designing and evaluating scalable intervention strategies for behavior change.
