Social Events
During ISLCCC 2024 hosted in Lucerne, we have planned several social events for you. These include a cruise on Lake Lucerne (registered participants only), a Fun Run / Walk on the shores of Lake Lucerne (open to all), and a Lake Shore Networking Dinner (registered participants and accompanying persons).
The cruise will take place on Thursday evening. The boat tour on the MS Gotthard (a motorboat) is a 1 hour cruise on Lake Lucerne accompanied by drinks and snacks. The cruise is kindly supported by Kinderkrebshilfe Schweiz.
During the cruise, you will be able to discover Lucerne from a different viewpoint. We will be passing by famous locations, such as the Lucerne Culture and Congress Center and the Swiss Museum of Transport. Due to limited space on the boat, only meeting participants can join.
The Lake Lucerne Fun Run / Walk will take place on Friday morning at 7am (prior to the start of the conference activities) along the shore of Lake Lucerne. Different distances will be signposted (starting at 2.5 km (1.5 miles) and 5 km (3 miles)).
The starting point will be at the University of Lucerne. During this Fun Run / Walk, the participants will get the opportunity to see the Chapel Bridge, the Pilatus Mountain, and many other noteworthy sights.
The Networking Dinner on the shore of Lake Lucerne will take place on Friday evening on the terrace at Lido Beachhouse. It is situated directly next to the lake with access to the beach. It overlooks mount Pilatus and the city of Lucerne.
To get to the location, you can either walk, take a bus, or do a quick boat tour from Bahnhofsquai, near the train station. After a buffet-style dinner, music and dancing will take place.
