Messages from the University Board

10 June: Open Door with the President

Once each semester, the President holds an "Open Door" session. On Tuesday, 10 June, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., you’ll have the chance to discuss your questions, concerns, wishes and suggestions directly with Professor Martin Hartmann. Please register in advance by email: rektorat@unilu.ch.

News from the ZHB Lucerne library

Sunday opening hours for students

The library is open on the following Sundays and public holidays: 25/29 May and 1/8/9/15/19/22 June, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Access is granted to students of a Swiss university or college with a valid CampusCard or student ID; access is via the night entrance. More information

Reduced summer opening hours
In July and the second half of August, we close at 6.30 p.m.

Summer closure
The library is closed from 1 to 17 August. During this period, items may be ordered via the Sempacherstrasse location, for example.

Campus offers

HSCL – Sports programme and holiday training

After the end of the semester, summer holiday training begins: from 2 June to 5 July and again after the HSCL summer break from 18 August until the start of the semester on 14 September. Individual activities such as kayak evening tours, stand-up paddleboarding, beach volleyball, rowing, windsurfing and sailing take place throughout this period. More information

"Wind & Waves": Lucerne Campus Orchestra (COL)

Following the successful conclusion of the COL spring project with a fantastic concert, we are already looking ahead to autumn. We are planning a concert featuring pieces by Bruch, Rautavaara and Vaughan Williams. Students, staff and alumni from Lucerne's universities will be performing. New players, especially string players, brass players and percussionists, are very welcome. No audition required. Rehearsals usually take place on Monday evenings during the semester.

The Unichor showcases the fascinating diversity of choral music, guiding you through the colourful nuances of a wide variety of musical styles, languages, epochs, rhythms and harmonies.

Prevention of sexual harassment: confidants

The three Lucerne universities offer a joint service for persons affected by sexual harassment. Any form of sexual harassment at a place of work or study is unacceptable and will result in appropriate measures and sanctions. Affected persons have the opportunity to receive quick and competent support by contacting one of the four confidants. More information


 
 
Student life

Baloo – Dates for autumn semester (HS25)

Here are the important dates for the coming semester: Advance sales of our teaching materials – including books, revision guides, and lecture notes for the University of Lucerne – will take place from 11 to 12 September, followed by the main sale from 15 to 17 September.
The Baloo café and bar will officially reopen on 15 September. We look forward to welcoming you back!

By the way: We are currently looking for a new shop manager! If you’re keen to take on responsibility, lead a team and help shape the future of Baloo, check out the details here. Law students with at least six semesters remaining are eligible to apply. We look forward to seeing you – and to receiving your exciting applications!


 

Workstations for exam preparation

For the upcoming exam session, the following rooms will be available for studying from 31 May to 30 June: HS11, HS12, HS13, HS14, the Tutorium (group work) and room E.202 (former Studiladen).


 

Key return for semester lockers

Please return your key to the Info Desk by Friday, 27 June at the latest. Remember to empty your locker completely and leave it clean. Leave the locker open but lock the lock.


 

Summer opening hours of the University/PH building

From 30 June to 29 August, the Uni/PH building will close at 7 p.m. from Monday to Friday. During the maintenance weeks from 1 to 16 August, the building will be closed all day.
