We offer a 2-year research position starting from the 1st of September 2020 (or by mutual agreement) within the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) project "Beyond Policy Adoption: Implications of Energy Policy on Parties, Publics, and Individuals" (PYAPP1_173642: 2017-2022) lead by Prof. Dr. Lena Schaffer.

The PostDoc will conduct research independently as well as within the project on the distributional implications of energy transitions for individuals, civil society and parties. The gross salary is around 70.000 CHF/year (according to SNSF guidelines). Funding for conference travel is available within the project. The PostDoc should be prepared to help with advising students and doctoral candidates. There is no teaching obligation that comes with this position, but the future PostDoc may conduct paid teaching assignments within the Institute of Political Science if desired.

The ideal candidate should hold or be close to finishing a doctoral degree (PhD) in political science, or political economy/ economics. Applicants are expected to have strong methodological skills, ideally experience with conducting surveys (experiments), a strong interest in theoretical, as well as empirical issues within the field of comparative political economy and especially comparative environmental politics, and a strong command of English.
