Department of Health Sciences and Medicine
The University of Lucerne is the youngest university in Switzerland. Founded in 2000, it comprises the four faculties of Theology, Cultural and Social Sciences, Law, Economics and the Department of Health Sciences and Medicine and has around 3'000 students. The Department of Health Sciences and Medicine promotes research and teaching in the areas of health, functioning, rehabilitation and well-being of individuals and society as a whole. We are committed to the close linking of science and practice as well as a broad national and international orientation.
As of September 1, 2021 or by agreement, we are looking to fill a

PhD position (3 years) in the field of health economics, health services, disability and ageing

Responsibilities

  • Undertake research activities that include data cleaning and data analysis, revision of literature, and publication of scientific papers
  • Support in other research projects developed at the institution
  • Support in teaching activities
  • Participate in internal seminars and at international academic conferences

Requirements

  • Completed Master's degree with excellent grades
  • Knowledge and interest in Applied Economics, Public Health, and Disability topics
  • Ability to discuss/write/present scientific results in English
  • Highly motivated, reliable, efficient and able to work independently
  • Trained in Data management, Econometrics and/or Statistical Methods
