The faculty offers doctoral and post-doctoral study in catholic theology.
After successful completion of a master’s programme, students with a particular interest in academia, and who are in possession of the relevant qualifications, can go on to write a dissertation. Admission to doctoral study requires a magna cum laude or summa cum laude master’s degree in Roman Catholic Theology, or equivalent qualification.
As part of the doctoral study programme, doctoral students independently investigate an area of research of their own choosing. They must discuss the subject of their dissertation with the responsible departmental professor and then write it under his/her guidance. The doctoral study programme is concluded with a doctoral examination and publication of the dissertation.
