NZZ Debate: Ban on “Social Media” for Teenagers?
In a double interview in the NZZ with Prof. Dr. Dominique Wirz (University of Amsterdam), Prof. Dr. Peter G. Kirchschlaeger argues for a ban on social networks – more adequately due to their addictive nature “anti-social media” – for teenagers.
He argues that technology companies should be held more accountable. Similar to the pharmaceutical industry, tech companies behind anti-social media should have to apply for market access approval and demonstrate that their products do not harm young people.
