Professorship of Liturgical Science
Liturgical science, which was elevated to the status of major theological subject (SC 16) by the Second Vatican Council (1962-65), deals with church faith as embodied in its variety of liturgical celebrations. From a historical perspective, it explores the historical development of the various forms of worship; from a systematic perspective, it seeks to understand encounters between God and man in specific liturgical celebrations; from a practical perspective, it examines specific forms of celebration and investigates the conditions in which people can worship in the 21st century.
