Dies Academicus - academic holiday of the University of Lucerne
On November 4th, 2021, the Faculty of Theology will award honorary doctorates to Prof. Dr. Susanna Heschel and Prof. Dr. Mualla Selçuk. The ceremony can be followed online.
The ceremony will start at 10:00 a.m. with the welcome and introduction by the Rector of the University of Lucerne, Prof. Dr. Bruno Staffelbach. He will then hand over to Federal Councillor Ignazio Cassis, Head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (EDA), for the ceremonial address. Before the academic honors are performed, Cantonal Councillor Stephan Schleiss, Director of Education of the Canton of Zug, also addresses the guests. Government Councillor Marcel Schwerzmann, Director of Education and Culture of the Canton of Lucerne, will conclude this year's Dies acadmicus of the University of Lucerne with his closing remarks.
