Tagesanzeiger: University of Zurich Provokes With AI Posts

Researchers at the University of Zurich wanted to find out whether people can be manipulated by ‘artificial intelligence’ and published controversial AI-generated posts in a forum. Peter G. Kirchschlaeger criticizes the approach.

Prof. Dr. Peter G. Kirchschlaeger condemns in particular the deception and manipulation of people in a public space as a result of the experiment. Ethical principles and legal requirements  apply also to researchers. It is necessary “to inform the people affected comprehensively and clearly in advance and to guarantee the principle of voluntariness”.
