Lea Portmann studied Political Science and Economics in Bern and Nantes (France) between 2008 and 2014. In her studies she focused intensively on electoral behavior and political representation, completing her degree with a master thesis about the adequacy of voting decisions. Additionally, Lea Portmann worked for the Centre for Labour and Social Policy Studies in Bern.
Since August 2015, she is working as a research assistant for Dr. Nenad Stojanović at the SNSF-project "Racist Voters and Minority Candidates". In this project she mainly concentrates on the question whether candidates with migration background are systematically discriminated in Swiss elections.
