Elie Michel is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Lucerne. He graduated from Sciences Po in Paris in electoral studies 2012 and obtained his Ph.D. 2017 at the Department of Social and Political Science of the European University Institute in Florence. His work bridges electoral politics with the sociology of the welfare state, particularly applied to the study of populist movements in Western Europe. His research interests include comparative political behavior, European elections, with a specific interest for radical right movements. On top of his research, Michel has also been Scientific Officer at the National Center for Competence in Research 'on the move' at the University of Neuchâtel.
